Highlights for July include:

. World class elites at the front and thousands of followers put it on the line in New York Road Runners New York Mini 10K. The original women’s only race.

. National Running Day serves as the stage for a major announcement. The world’s greatest runner, Haile Gebrselassie, will run the 2010 ING New York City Marathon on November 7th.

. The 50th running of the Mount Washington Road Race.  7.6 miles to the summit at 6,288 feet, with the final yards at a 22% grade. But it’s only one hill.

. Race with your teammates in this New York Road Runners “club points race”, get free prostate testing, and savor the Central Park experience in the Father’s Day Race Against Prostate Cancer presented by ABC7.

. The Nautica New York City Triathlon demands that you give your all, but not all at once. The race for victory in last year’s competition was a duel to the finish, with only one wearing the gold.  An RCN High Speed Performance.

. The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge arrives in New York with maxed out fields and gleaming enthusiasm. Wearing that company t-shirt puts a little extra fuel in the tank.

. The first Japanese mission arrived in New York City in 1860.  Now, 150 years later, one way to celebrate is the Japan Day @ Central Park Four Mile Run.

. First on the Verrazano in the ING New York City Marathon -the wheelchair racers. Once over the crest of the bridge, they really begin to fly.  An Asics Great Marathon Moment.

. The message is clear - exercise is good for all. The American Heart Association Start! Wall Street Run & Health Walk in the financial district is a good place to begin.

. There’s always that next level.  The 28.5 mile Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, presented by RCN, and staged by NYCSWIM, is for those who like the challenge of extreme endurance. A sea level tour of the City.
