New in 2009, Rebel Sport City to Surf for Activ’s Health and Wellness Sponsor, Prime Health Group, is taking this much loved community event to West Australian mine sites, launching the 2009 Prime Health Mining City to Surf for Activ.

Site workers on swings that have them away from Perth on August 30th but want to be involved in the event will now have the opportunity to be a part of this much loved event.

The Prime Health City 2 Surf for Activ will be run at an estimated 100 mine sites across WA in the month of August as a satellite event to WA’s largest community event. Organisers are expecting over 1000 to take part.

Event manager Laura McKelvey said of the new initiative ‘Given that WA is at the forefront of the mining industry we’re extremely pleased to work together with Prime Health Group broadening the event in this way. It can only further strengthen distance running in WA and increase funds raised for Activ’

Each Site will choose their own event day in August and registered participants will take part in either a 4km or 12km event.

“Prime Health Group is very excited to be able to bring the City to Surf concept to the mining community of Western Australia. Our aim is to enrol at least 1000 participants in the first year, and we intend to grow this concept in years to come” Shawn Murphy National Business Development Manager, Prime Health Group.

Similar to the main event Prizes include teams that complete the most kilometers within designated size categories, best photo and also best dressed.
